The Innovation Incubation Center at Jimma University (JU-IIC) recently hosted an AI Bootcamp led by esteemed senior researchers Mizanu Z. Degu & Kinde Anlay Fante(Dr.). The Bootcamp brought together Jimma University researchers, professionals, and senior experts in a collective journey into the realms of Artificial Intelligence. The Bootcamp was designed to immerse participants in an intensive learning experience, covering foundational AI concepts to practical sessions. Through hands-on practices and interactive sessions, participants explored the limitless possibilities that AI offers for innovation and problem-solving.

The center remains committed to providing a fertile ground for researchers and innovation, fostering a culture of continuous learning and exploration.

RISA team visit Jimma University Innovation Incubation Center

The Research and Innovation System for Africa (RISA) team recently visited the Innovation Incubation Center at Jimma University, which was established with the support of The RISA Fund. During the visit, the incubates had the incredible opportunity to showcase their progress on innovative startups and projects. The discussion sessions were inspiring, focusing not only on the technical aspects but also on the business viability of the projects. The RISA team provided constructive comments that offered valuable insights for improvement. Participants of the R2C project (in collaboration with ViKtoria Ventures) accelerator training also had the opportunity to showcase their startups.

The collaborative spirit was evident, and it’s about fostering an environment where creativity thrives, and groundbreaking ideas take flight in Africa.
